Below Kayla has answered some questions so that you can learn more about her and her position as the Student Board Representative.

What do you do in your role as Student Board Representative?
My role is the same as a typical board member I attend board meetings, conference calls and have the ability to vote on decisions made by the board. I am able to bring a different viewpoint to the board as a student. I have been able to get involved, network with our leaders in the field and much more.

Favorite part about your position as Student Board Representative?
My favorite part of my position is having the opportunity to see what goes on behind the scenes of the Society for Vascular Ultrasound. It's amazing to me the amount of planning that goes into every small detail and I enjoy seeing those small details adding up into actual events and products.

Pick one word to describe yourself?
If I had to pick one word to describe myself it would probably be determined. I know that with enough hard work and perseverance, I can achieve anything I set my mind to.

What is your favorite book?
Number one on my list is The Bible. My favorite novel is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. These are definitely the two most read books on my Kindle!

What is your favorite place to travel to?
My favorite place to travel to would have to be Chicago, Illinois. Chicago has Lake Michigan, shopping, great sights to see and the Chicago Cubs baseball team. Best of all, Chicago has deep-dish pizza!
