What are your main responsibilities in your role as the President of SVU? I appoint committee chairs and advise all SVU committees. I also review proposals for new initiatives and help to direct the activities of those new initiatives. I work a lot with the executive director, executive committee and board of directors to ensure that the budget is handled in a fiscally sound manner. What is your favorite part of your position? Learning, learning and more learning - all of my years on the board of directors has offered me new opportunities to learn more about the vascular profession from all angles. In the role of President, my learning has been augmented and it is a great honor to assume this vantage point. Pick two words to describe yourself? Hard working and inquisitive! What is your favorite book? Gone with the Wind What is your favorite place to travel to? I love to travel to the Blue Ridge Mountains. What session are you most excited for at the the 2014 Annual Conference and why? The Cutting Edge - New Trends session is always one of my favorites because it is one that always challenges us to continue exploring new frontiers in the vascular field.
