Why Should You Become a Signature Lab Member?


Going through the accreditation process for your lab, you were able to demonstrate to your patients a high level of competence and quality. Why not demonstrate a commitment to professional development as well?

With over 550 Signature Lab members, SVU is dedicated to advancing the field of vascular ultrasound. Member benefits include access to over 33 vascular-focused CME credits (at least 18 are free with membership per year), which are required to maintain accreditation. In addition to this benefit, your lab will receive:

  • Access to the Signature Lab Member logo to be used on your website, business cards and additional communication pieces, to demonstrate your commitment to staff excellence and to the field.
  • A certificate and window cling to designate your practice as a Signature Lab.
  • Special recognition at the SVU Annual Conference.

How to Qualify

The SVU "Signature Laboratory Membership" category requires 100% membership participation in SVU. Vascular ultrasound laboratories that have at least 3 or more SVU member vascular technologists / sonographers and at least one affiliated physician SVU member can become a "Signature Lab" and receive significant discounts on the SVU membership rate. The amount of discount depends on the number of SVU member vascular technologists / sonographers per lab.

Membership criteria

  • All vascular technologist/sonographers at a lab must join SVU together
  • Lab must have at least three (3)  vascular technologists/sonographers
  • Student members encouraged, but not counted in total
  • Must have at least one (1) affiliated physician member
  • Site-specific (for multi-site companies)
  • All lab associates must be current SVU members
  • One sonographer must be assigned Signature Lab Liaison:
    • Signs yearly affidavit that all sonographers accounted
    • Maintains list (annual application) of lab members
